Here are some of the many links we will be using this upcoming school year to help with learning in both Reading and Social Studies.
Student Resources: Student Life
Kahoot!
Kahoot! is a good tool for ages ranging from elementary grades all the way to college. Kahoot! can be useful in the classroom and outside when needing to find a short activity to keep the class entertained for a period of time. Say a teacher is going over how to multiply fractions and decimals in class. Just by creating a short quiz on Kahoot can test their knowledge about anything we have worked on in class.

Google Drive
Google Drive is an amazing resource that teachers with in class laptops can use. Students can begin assignments and share them with their peers and teacher(s) in their class. Drive makes it easier for teachers to help students correct simple mistakes by using the suggestion to edit, share, and viewing options. Drive also immediately saves and updates the work that is being completed. Students' work is also saved in their cloud which is connected to their google accounts. Students will have access to this in their Google Classroom.

Khan Academy
Khan Academy has videos much like YouTube, but KA is strictly educational videos. KA has videos pertaining to every grade level and subject from elementary math to college courses and levels. This website can also be found in an app that is also free, making it easier to access outside the classroom and inside the classroom.

Brain Pop
Brain Pop is something that I definitely grew up seeing in school. In our middle school science classes, Brain pop would give us a simpler version of the topic of our lesson. Brain Pop also has different sections that teachers can use as a resource. They have lessons including all subjects (Science, math, social studies, language, and others).

Quizlet
Quizlet is an easy resource when needing to study for a test or a topic in a specific class. Quizlet is an awesome resource for all ages since you can make flashcards and include pictures and little facts to help you remember. Quizlet is also an easy way to look up and study subjects that you may not be as familiar with. You have either the option to create your own notes and flashcards, or you can search through all of the others that have already been created for the same purpose. It is an amazing study tool for the older grades, but can also come in handy when working with younger students as well.

Spelling City
Spelling City is a resource that we will be using in our classroom every single day. Each week, your student will have assignments on this website where he/she will complete up to 10 assignments focusing on grammar, spelling, and vocabulary skills.
